Edwin van der Sar OON (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈɛtʋɪn vɑn dɛr ˈsɑr] (listen)) (born 29 October 1970) is a Dutch former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. During his career he played for Ajax, Juventus, Fulham, Manchester United and VV Noordwijk. He is the second most capped player in the Netherlands national team's history. He is considered, by critics and fellow players, as one of the best goalkeepers of all time. He currently works as the chief executive officer at Ajax. In 2016, he briefly came out of retirement to play a match for Dutch amateur team VV Noordwijk.
