As a Lady of the Garter, Alexandra's banner of arms hung in St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, during her lifetime despite the objections of Garter Principal King of Arms, Sir Albert Woods. When Woods complained that placing her banner in the Chapel would be unprecedented, "the King promptly ordered the banner to be put up."[90]
