David Byrne (/bɜːrn/; born 14 May 1952) is a Scottish-born American singer, songwriter, musician, record producer, artist, actor, writer and filmmaker who is a founding member and the principal songwriter, lead singer/guitarist and leader of the American new wave band Talking Heads (active 1975–1991).
